Our Trees

Radiata Pine

Originally known as the Monterey pine, this tree is mainly grown in New Zealand for its timber. It has made its place as the traditional Christmas tree due to its availability. The trees are pruned and shaped twice a year from a young age and are, on average, three and a half years old when they are ready for sale.

Last year this fine specimen was tagged by the charming young Florence and over the Christmas period stood proudly in her family home.

Douglas Fir

The Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menzieseii) is one of the premium trees grown in the United States as a Christmas tree. It prefers a colder climate than that which the north island can offer. However we have managed to cultivate this tree in Auckland with some success. This seven year old specimen is an example of what will be available next year.

Monterey Cypress

Also known as a Macrocarpa this tree has been planted to give an alternative to the Monterey pine, which has become well known as the standard Auckland Christmas tree. They are in limited supply this year and range between four and eight feet.
